The Bellos family had deep, deep roots in the Capitol. Cleo grew up never wanting for anything. She enjoyed her luxurious lifestyle with little thought to how or why it might be wrong, even if she never particularly liked the Hunger Games. There were just more important things for her to think about, like her outfit for the next party. Her older sister Emilia was being raised to take over their family’s business, so Cleiona was free to live entirely carefree.However, Emilia fell ill when Cleo was 16. Cleo spent the better part of a year trying to find some way to save her sister, but couldn’t come up with anything. When she passed, the sharks began to circle, sensing weakness in such a powerful family for the first time in generations. Weakness, of course, could not be tolerated in a core family. Cleo’s father stressed to her that they had to appear strong and hold their heads high, no matter how grieved they were from Emilia’s death. In the end, their mask of strength was not enough to keep them together, though. Only a few short days later, she found her father dead in his study.Of course, it was said to be a tragic accident; but Cleo watched as the Damora family swiftly assumed the power vacuum her father’s death left and she ( unlike most people assumed ) was keen enough to put two and two together. In assuming her father’s holdings, a duty assigned by President Snow himself, Gaius Damora also took on responsibility for ‘raising’ Cleiona Bellos. Gaius was a cruel and sadistic man, privately referred to as The King of Blood, and Cleo vowed to reclaim her rightful power from him upon reaching adulthood. In the wake of her loss, she still fronts a pretty, flighty, and submissive exterior but she has begun to take her studies more seriously and to play the politics of the Capitol with more effort.**Add on aspect (optional): Gaius announces that Cleo and his son, Magnus, are engaged to be married. It’s quite a stir in the Capitol because they are two famous families coming together. Cleo is paraded around as little more than a figurehead, but she is quietly gathering social ties and power. Growing up in District 3, Cleo skated by on the coattails of her family’s name and her sister’s academic success. It wasn’t that Cleo wasn’t smart enough to achieve to the standards of the upper echelon, it was just that she didn’t care all that much. Her father was constantly reminding her that even they were not above repercussions, but she paid him little heed. They’d be fine, she assumed. Nothing bad could happen to them. The Hunger Games were, of course, an ever present challenge to her naive notions, but Cleo had always assumed the Bellos name would protect them.When Emilia got sick at eighteen, with just one more reaping to face, Cleo held onto that relentless optimism of hers. Emilia had made it through five of the six reapings she would face in her life, she’d be fine. The doctors in 3 were decent enough, with the ties to the Capitol, and Emilia was a Bellos. That meant something. Emilia was hardly well enough to stand for the reaping, Cleo could spy her leaning heavily against a friend as they waited for the names to be called. When the name EMILIA BELLOS was read, Cleo’s stood shell-shocked for a moment. Upon seeing her sister struggling to right herself as people suddenly backed away from her, Cleo shouted “ I VOLUNTEER ” before she could take another step towards the platform. When she had a moment to speak with her dad and Emilia after the reaping, Cleo decided then and there that she would win so that she could return home and use the rewards to fund Emilia’s treatments.At fifteen during her Games, Cleo’s luck and sparkling personality is what saved her life. She spent a majority of her Games hiding and determining the true threats. The Capitol had been enamored with her, and many were familiar with her family so she was fortunate enough to have a few sponsors send gifts to her as she developed her plot to win. Investigating revealed that the crumbling cityscape arena they were trapped in had an extensive power grid that she was able to manipulate to her advantage. She won by overloading the system and causing a raging fire to break out in a building that housed the last four tributes. It was a risky and last choice option, she nearly died trying to get out of the building herself.After the Games, upon returning to District 3, she discovered that Emilia had passed from her illness. Cleo and her father were invited to stay in the Capitol after her Victory Tour, because they so loved the golden haired victor. Weary with grief, she did not resist. She played the role of enchanting victor that they expected by day and was haunted by nightmares at night. Her father did not adjust so well. Distraught over the loss of Emilia and trying to protect Cleo from all of the dangerous players in the Capitol, he got himself killed in the crossfire. After less than a year in the Capitol, she was entirely alone.Where Emilia’s death had beaten her down, her father’s death woke Cleiona up. The Capitol would not survive her grief. In every way she could, she played their games to some day turn it on their heads. The Capitol already loved her, so she used every bit of that love to her advantage. Her sweet, honeycoated persona hid the cunning predator that understood how to play the long game. It was much easier when she had nothing left to lose.Cleo ended up being a key player in the plot to get people out of the Quell arena and could have either made it to District 13 or been kept by the Capitol depending on plots.

Cleiona Bellos came from a long line of purebloods, and although she did not necessarily think that blood status should affect anything in life, she certainly enjoyed the benefits. There was not a particular Hogwarts house that the Bellos family was prone to being sorted into. Cleo’s father and mother were both in Gryffindor when they attended and her older sister Emilia was sorted into Ravenclaw three years before Cleo’s letter arrived. In her first year, she was sorted into Hufflepuff.Some people assume that Hufflepuffs can be walked all over, but Cleiona does not stand for the poor treatment of anyone in her house. She can be quite fiery when provoked. In her first four years at Hogwarts, many people might describe her as naive and spoiled. Cleo always gets her way, so long as she wants something badly enough.In her fifth year, however, Emilia becomes gravely ill. She is sent to St. Mungoe’s in the middle of the fall semester and Cleo is excused from classes for several weeks to be with her. She held onto the hope that Emilia would recover until the day her sister finally died. Crushed, Cleo didn’t return to classes until mid-November, having been absent for an entire month. No amount of wanting Emilia to live could bring her back, and to those that knew Cleo well before the change in her was obvious.She hated to feel helpless, but that's exactly how she felt when she returned to classes. Umbridge's reign of terror only compounded such feelings, inspiring Cleo to join Dumbledore's Army, eager to learn something practical. She's present at the Battle of the Ministry, and shockingly so is her father, who she discovers has been a member of the Order, something he had kept secret from her in the hopes of keeping her out of the conflicts. Her father is struck by the killing curse during the Battle, leaving her well and truly alone.Her father’s death left her spiraling. The rest of the school year little more than a blur. There was a custody battle being waged – over some issues, apparently, with her father’s will and testament – and she just wanted to go back to her first few years of fun and laughter. Her OWLs were a bit of a mess because of everything going on, but Professor Sprout argued for her to be able to retake the worst scoring ones after the summer.Upon leaving Hogwarts that year, she was released into the care of Gaius Damora. Rather than naming a relative, however distant, her father’s will had indicated care of his daughters was to be given to the fellow pureblooded family of the Damoras. The Damoras had ties to dark wizarding history, but were supposedly on the straight and narrow now. Cleo could hardly believe Gaius’ audacity when he moved into the Bellos’ estate on the pretense of caring for her. Suspicious of how all this came to be, Cleo is determined to find a copy of her father’s original will – she refuses to believe this could have actually been his desire.

The Bellos family was generally well known in Lunathion. Corvin Bellos owned and operated a successful company, making them a powerful influence in the fae circles, some might even consider them to have some influence throughout the city, too. An uncommon power in the Valbaran fae, Cleiona and her sister Emilia inherited water magic from their mother who was from a different continent. There were complications in Cleo’s birth, which were unfortunately fatal, so it was just Corvin and his two daughters from then on.Just three years apart, Emilia and Cleo were inseparable. Emilia was certainly the more applied and accomplished of the two, but Cleo hardly minded. In fact, she enjoyed not having to worry about one day inheriting her father’s company and power. Throughout her younger years and into college she enjoyed all the benefits of being wealthy in the city, partying and enjoying life to the limits of her body before the drop. She and Emilia were planning to make the drop together once Cleo was 24, since they were both going to lead that nearly-immortal lifespan.When Cleo was 23, Emilia became ill. It felt impossible, especially when healer after healer could not figure out how to help her. If she made the drop, the first light might heal her, but… With how weak she had quickly become, she likely wouldn’t be able to make the ascent. When Emilia passed barely two months after her illness first set in, Cleo was left to feel that it was her fault she died. If it weren’t for their pact to wait until she was 24, Emilia could have made the drop and might have been able to fight whatever that illness had been.Cleo was seeing a human named Theon at the time, unbeknownst to her father. She was spending the night with him in Asphodel Meadows a few weeks after Emilia’s death when her father was killed in their home. She returned to their home the next morning to find it torn to pieces, clearly someone had been searching for something. Her father’s body was in pieces in the study, the safe he hid behind the bookshelf wide open behind him. She had no idea what had been in there, but whatever it had been was enough to kill for; and so she promised herself she would kill the people who had taken him from her.The board of her father’s company turned to her, but she decided to merely keep the majority share and allow them to govern themselves as she turned her attention to her father’s murder. A bit of digging revealed stories of the Kindred: four stones imbued with elemental magic. Her father had told her these stories about the Kindred when she was young, but he had also warned that the magic in the stones would corrupt anyone who attempted to wield them — unless, he claimed, you had the Bellos ring. She wore the amethyst ring on her right middle finger every day, he had gifted it to her when she turned 21. If somehow it had been the Kindred he was killed for, Cleo decided it must be her mission to recover them. With the ring, she was the only one who could handle them without being ‘ corrupted ’ by the magic, whatever that might mean.Early on in her pursuit of the truth, Theon was killed for helping her in the investigation. It might have deterred her if there had been anyone else she feared for, but with all her loved ones dead, she pressed forward with renewed vigor. Most who see her still assume she’s just that party girl fae from college, which she uses to her advantage. Her grief has sobered and tempered that side of her, although she can certainly fake it well still. It’s easier to be that girl than it is to be the girl who has lost everyone, after all.

acotar au: heir to the dawn court.

Corvin ruled as High King of the Dawn Court for hundreds of years, but he and his wife never had a son. They had two daughters, Emilia and Cleiona, before Elena was killed in the seven year War in which the Dawn Court fought on behalf of the mortals.Corvin brought his daughters with him to attend the party with Amarantha, not suspecting what was going to happen. When his power was stolen, they were trapped there. Cleo, who had lived a very sheltered life up until that point did not adjust well to the horrors of Amarantha’s court. Her general innocence and naivety quickly faded.When Corvin took part in a plot for rebellion, Amarantha had Emilia executed in front of Cleo and her father as punishment, and moments later ended Corvin’s life as well, leaving Cleo the only heir to the Dawn Court throne. It was less than desirable for the members of the Dawn Court under the mountain, being led by a female, but Cleiona assumed her duty with a heavy sense of responsibility for her people. It was difficult to tell with most of the power being held by Amarantha, but Cleiona did inherit the Dawn Court’s power. She did her best to hold out hope for the champion who would free them from the curse.Once they are freed, she gratefully bestows a kernel of her power on Feyre and returns to her Court to begin sorting out the mess her ascension to High Lady would be. She is entirely on board with the call to arms against Hybern, but with being so new to leading she struggles to get her Court on board at first.

Cleo was raised the younger daughter of Corvin Bellos, world renowned film production mogul. She’d always been told that her mother, Elena Bellos, died giving birth to her. With all the similarities between herself and her older sister, Emilia, she never thought to question it. Even though her father swore he never held his daughters in comparison to one another, Cleo couldn’t help but envy Emilia’s ease in school growing up. Her older sister had no trouble burying her face in a book for hours on end, but with ADHD and Dyslexia the mere notion sounded like pure torture to Cleiona.Hanging out with friends, getting her hair done, flirting with boys, all of her hobbies and occupations were far more entertaining than school anyways. That was all Cleo really cared about for the first twelve years of her life. Six months before Cleo’s 13th birthday, Emilia admitted to Corvin that she hadn’t been feeling well lately, there were a few months of non-stop doctors visits and many worried nights spent in the hospital, but ultimately there was nothing to be done.When they arrived home to find their safe open Corvin immediately tensed. Cleo wasn’t sure why he was so worried, she was sure they had plenty of money to replace whatever had been taken. But he was really shaken. What she didn’t know was that he’d been in possession of a powerful magical object that shielded their home from attracting monsters due to Cleo’s demigod scent. There was a waiting monster, likely tipped off or attracted to the scene by the same person who had emptied their safe. Her father, hardly able to see through the mist, was killed in the chaos and she was barely able to escape with her life while she tried to figure out what on earth was going on. She was lucky enough to be picked up by a scouting satyr who had finally tracked her down, thrown off initially by the funeral arrangements.Moving from the west coast to Camp Half Blood was quite the adjustment, but not long after her arrival she was claimed by Aphrodite. Since she doesn’t have much of a home to return to anymore, she stays at Camp year round for now. She’s convinced someone is actually at fault for her father’s death and is determined to get to the bottom of it eventually. She spends every moment of her first three years at camp honing skills she would’ve once scoffed at like most in her cabin. Even though she’s never going to be the best fighter in battle, she makes up for it in often being able to put an end to a fight before it’s even begun. Her exceptional sociability and charm aren’t just for making friends; she has a proclivity for Charmspeak that she discovered in her second summer.

generally following tvd lore.cleiona and emilia were raised by corvin bellos in a big city, blissfully unaware of the supernatural. corvin had his suspicions with the death of his wife after cleo was born, but kept it to himself. it wasn’t until emilia fell ill that he committed himself to uncovering the hidden supernatural world. with pockets that ran deep, he was able to procure the necessary contacts to put him in touch with a vampire, whom he then paid an exorbitant amount of money to turn his eldest daughter in the hopes of saving her life. emilia, however, refused to complete the transition, despite the hunger than consumed her. twenty-four hours after dying with the vampire blood in her system, she passed. cleo had no inkling of what had happened, and mourned her sister’s death as a natural consequence of her sudden illness.corvin’s contacts with the supernatural underground, however, lead him down a dangerous path. gaius damora, an ancient and power-hungry vampire, still harboring resentment for corvin for a conflict over interest in cleo and emilia’s mother from years ago, reveals the supernatural world to cleo when he murders her father in front of her. she’s reeling and trying to process what she’s just seen when gaius then proceeds to attack her, very nearly draining her of blood, but leaving her within an inch of her life. that’s how magnus, who she has been quietly seeing for some time now, finds her. panicked as he is upon finding her in that condition, with her father’s body lifeless on the other end of the room, he doesn’t hesitate to give her some of his blood to heal her. it brings her back just long enough for her to begin to form a question, and that’s when gaius steps in and snaps her neck, ending her human life.cleiona had never been known for impulse control as a human, and her self-preservation instinct, fueled in no small part by a quickly developing desire for revenge, leads her to complete the transition. with all the loss she experienced in so short a succession now magnified as a vampire, she discovers the temptation of the humanity switch. the only thing stopping her from flipping it immediately is the rage she clings to, that burning desire to rip the head from gaius damora’s shoulders. gaius, of course, expects nothing less from her. he makes a grand display of force to prove to her that any hope of vengeance is superfluous and leaves her in magnus’ care as a gift. when the reality of all that she’s lost truly sinks in, the grief replacing that initial rage, she flips the switch.
